Jacob A. Newsom's grandparents were Jacob Calvin Newsom II (Findagrave # 66259332) and Lucy "Polly" Barham Newsom. Jacob A. died in 1868 at age 46, reportedly of typhoid fever. He had been a farmer and grist mill operator in Greene county, Indiana.
