Based on EARLY Stokes County land deeds, he is believed to be the son of Henry Johnson and father of Mrs. Jacob Calvin Newsome III (Katherine Johnson) and the father or uncle of Caleb Johnson (wife, Nancy Shields Johnson). It appears this clan of Johnsons were established in the early years along Abbotts Creek in current day Wallburg community, Davidson County, NC.
