  Notes	In Memory of ROBERT D. JOHNSON Obituary Macon – Robert Dean Johnson, Sr. passed away April 15, 2011. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Sunday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Johnson was born in Macon to the late Paul Dean Johnson and Sallie Jones Johnson. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base as a welder and served his country in the United States Marine Corp. and the National Guard. He participated in action against the enemy at Iwo Jima, Volcano Isles and the Occupation of Japan and China. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star with V for Valor. He was a 1935 graduate of Lanier High School. Mr. Johnson was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church since 1933 and was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Catherine Watson, his brothers, H. Lee Johnson, Paul D. Johnson and sister Maureen Bostick. Survivors include his daughter Gayle (Clarence) Harris of Niceville, FL; two sons, Dean (Leslie) Johnson of Macon and David Johnson also of Macon; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews including H. Lee Johnson, Jr. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice 6261 Peake Rd. Macon, GA 31210. Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery has charge of arrangements.
